Each ACWC representative is appointed by his or her government. The process of appointment differs in each country.

Brunei Darussalam

H.E. Datin Paduka Hajah Intan bte Haji Mohd. Kassim (Current ACWC Chair) (2013-2016)
Her excellency served the Brunei Government for more than 29 years. After retirement she transitioned to academia and lectured in law. She is the President of the Brunei Social Welfare Council. This is her second term with ACWC. Her first term was as Brunei’s Representative for Women’s Rights. Full Biography


H.E. Mrs. Khiev Bory (2010-2016)
Mrs. Khiev Bory has served as the Secretary General of Cambodia National Council for Children (C. N. C. C.) since 2009. Prior to assuming this position she worked with the Ministry of Planning. This is her second term with ACWC. Full Biography
H.E. Ahmad Taufan Damanik (2010-2016)
Mr. Ahmad Taufan Damanik has been working for the advancement of Children’s Rights since 1986 when he established Yayasan KKSP  - the Center for Child Rights and Education, which specializes in addressing issues such as child labor and education. This is his second term with ACWC. Full Biography
H.E. Ms. Congchith Chantharanonh (2010-2016)
Ms. Congchith Chantharanonh has been the Acting Secretary General of the National Commission for Mothers and Children Secretariat since 2011. Prior to assuming this position, she worked for the Mekong River Commission Secretariat and a range of different government departments. This is her second term with ACWC.

H.E. Prof. Datuk Dr. Chiam Heng Keng (2010-2016)
Prof. Datuk Dr. Chiam Heng Keng is a well-known authority on child and adolescent psychology and early childhood education. She is one of the three longest serving Human Rights Commissioners on the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM). Her 5th term ended in April 2010. This is her second term with ACWC. H.E. Ms. Rupar Mya (2010-2016)
Ms. Rupar Mya  has served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Social Welfare at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of Myanmar. In addition to her work as a government official, she is actively engaged in various activities related to children, namely awareness raising workshops on CRC and child protection. This is her second term with ACWC.

H.E. Atty. Alberto T. Muyot (2016 - 2019)
Atty. Alberto Muyot is currently the Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs of the Department of Education and a Commissioner on Culture and the Arts. He is also the official representative of the Philippines to the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-High Officials Meeting (SEAMEO-HOM) and the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (ASEAN SOM-ED). H.E. Mr. Koh Choon Hui ( -2016)
Mr. Koh Choon Hui is a businessman, active volunteer and community leader. He has been Chairman of the Singapore Children’s Society since 1978 and served on the board of numerous other charitable/ service organizations. This is his second term with ACWC.

H.E. Dr. Saisuree Chutikul ( -2016)
Dr. Saisuree Chutikul was a member of the UN CEDAW (2007-2010), Vice-Chair of the UN CRC (2001-2005), and represented Thailand for twelve years in the UN/ CSW. She was the Cabinet Minister responsible for women’s affairs, children and youth and social development and a Senator, chairing Senate Committee on Women, Children and Youth (1996-2000). H.E. Mr. Dang Hoa Nam ( -2016)
Mr. Dang Hoa Nam has served in the field of children’s rights, communication, social marketing, and public relations for over 20 years. Currently, Mr. Hoa Nam is the Deputy General Director of Child Protection and Care Department at the Ministry of Labour- Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) of Viet Nam.
