The Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network (ADPAN) in cooperation with Ensemble contre la peine de mort (ECPM)/Together Against Death Penalty are pleased to invite you to participate in the Malaysia National Conference and Training Workshop on the “Abolition of the Death Penalty in Malaysia and in Asia-Pacific” on 21 to 22 of July 2017 at Auditorium of the KL and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The two-day conference, , which will include participants coming from countries across Asia-Pacific, will be a great opportunity of learning, exchanging views, experiences and best practices with regard the campaign for the abolition of the death penalty.
The Conference will be looking also be looking topics like ‘poverty, crime and the death penalty’, detention conditions, death penalty and the impact on children(CRC) and family, death penalty and mental health, death penalty and migrants/foreigners, ‘secret’ executions, and other matters related. We will also be looking at how effectively we could use the UPR and other UN mechanisms. Lastly, there will also be short training on fact-finding missions.
We hope that you and/or a representative from your organization will be able to attend and participate in this National Conference in Malaysia.

You are invited to attend the 2nd Regional Consultation Meeting on April 27-29 in Manila, Philippines to move forward the preparation of our ACSC/APF 2017 in July. Your participation in this meeting to represent your country or your regional processes is deemed important.

Given the Philippine NOC's budget constraints, we are requesting all the delegates for this meeting to fund all their expenses in coming to Manila. The PH NOC only has enough funds to give partial subsidy for the RSC representative of each country process.
Below is a proposed budget breakdown for each participant. You are requested to prepare at least US$244 to cover your expenses for the duration of the meeting, of which the US$150 will have to be paid for the board and lodging to the Secretariat.
Other hotels or accommodations are available, but you have to shoulder the extra expense.
There are several airlines going to Manila. You can check their websites for your preferred flight bookings. We advise you to please arrive on the 26th April so that everyone is already here at the start of the meeting.

Suu Kyi's failure to address the issue publicly has troubled many, particularly as it fits into a pattern of aloofness. Her national reconciliation efforts have also not been making the headway hoped for.
